Duo HBW High Security Hinge Bolts
For more than 20 years DUO HBW Security Hinge Bolts have enabled customers to improve security at the hinge side of their doors. Especially for doors which open outwards.
- HBW are sold in pairs, which usually suits most single door installations – although for extra security a third HBW Security Hinge Bolt is sometimes useful.
- HBW are only suitable for doors that are 40mm or more thick – solid core doors may be preferred for these applications.
- For lesser security requirements, DUO HBC Security Hinge Bolts are suitable for doors that are greater than 35mm thick.
- As shown in the image, the HBW head of the bolt projects about 25mm beyond the hinge edge of the door and a socket is formed in the frame to receive it.
- As the door closes, the head is received into the socket, creating a secure interlock between the door and frame that remains engaged until the door is deliberately opened.
- DUO HBW can also be installed to aluminium doors that have architectural grade stiles that may be sufficient to sustain the installation.
- To improve the level of security, the head of the bolt, the escutcheon protecting the socket and the screws are all made from stainless steel.
- DUO HBW are approved for applications that require relatively high levels of security and resistance to attack.
